RCIA (the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) is a journey of faith for those interested in learning more about the Catholic Faith. Candidates who seek to join the church are accompanied by members of the RCIA team as they enter into an extended period of formation and conversion through prayer, discussion and reflection on the gospels. This journey of faith is also a communal journey in which the parish welcomes and supports the candidates along their journey.

The process of preparation ends with the Rite of Initiation celebrated at the Easter Vigil Mass. Catechumens are baptised and those already baptized receive Holy Communion for the first time and are confirmed. Anointing with holy oil called Chrism seals the initiation by the power of the Holy Spirit. Participation in the Table of the Lord in the Eucharist marks full membership in the church.

Volunteers are always needed and we would be very happy to speak with anyone with an interest in joining the RCIA team.
