Sacrament of Baptism

The Sacrament of Baptism normally will take place on a Sunday at 1pm after the completion of the Parish Masses. Parents may choose to have the Baptism either at Holy Name Church or at St Peter's Church.
Parents may alternatively choose to have the Baptism during one of the wekend Masses which are: Saturday 5.30pm at Holy Name; Sunday 9.30am at St Peter's or Sunday at 11.30am at Holy Name.
Normally, Baptism will take place on any Sunday.
If you wish to arrange a Baptism for your child then please contact Fr John well in advance to check that the date is available. You can contact Fr John through the Parish email: office@holynamechurch.co.uk

Sacrament of First Holy Communion

If your child goes to St Peter's School or to St Joseph's Birkenhead School then arrangements for the preparation and celebration will be announced through the School.
If you have a child that attends any other school than the two just mentioned, arrangements will be made in the Parish for the preparation and the celebration. The preparation in the Parish would begin about the beginning of Lent so please enrol your child in plenty of time as failure to do so will mean your child will have to wait till the following year. Depending on the number of children and the family commitments a suitable time and day for the preparation will be worked out with the families concerned.
Again, if you have a child ready for their Communion then please contact Fr John through the Parish email: office@holynamechurch.co.uk
